History
BT Commercial’s roots date to its founding in 1981 as Blickman
Turkus Commercial Real Estate, serving the Bay Area from one
office in San Jose. Through steady growth and acquisition,
the firm has become one of the most active real estate services
firms in Northern California and is still locally owned and
operated.
In 1994, we began our affiliation with NAI, providing clients with an expanded
network of highly qualified professionals for their real estate needs throughout
the US and the globe.
In
1996, we acquired Damon Raike & Company. This firm was founded in San Francisco in 1959 and provided BT nearly
a dozen agents who specialize in selling leased investment
throughout the United States. Today this group makes up our
NNN Leased Investment Group, one of the most active groups
of its kind in the United States.
In 1998, our retail real estate operation was merged with the well-regarded
Terranomics Retail Services, and continues to dominate the leasing, sales and
marketing of stores, shopping centers and malls throughout Northern California.
In 2003, BT entered the multi-family marketplace with the help
of Ric Russell, a 25 year veteran of Marcus & Millichap
and the former manager of their Palo Alto Office. Thanks to Ric’s
leadership, BT Commercial now has 32 agents focusing on multi-family
investment sales.
In early 2005, we acquired NAI Sacramento to create a seamless service platform
from the Pacific Coast to the Sierra Nevada mountains.
In fall 2005, we changed our name to BT Commercial as a reflection of our
growing capabilities in serving clients in Northern California, across the
country and throughout the world.
In fall 2005, we opened our Walnut Creek office headed by Managing Partner Mark McNally.
In fall 2008, we opened our Pleasanton office headed by Managing Partner Chris Crabtree.
